Research plants

Our technical staff designs facilities for research in aquaculture, manufactured according to EU standards. The reproducibility of particular conditions is essential in research to compare experiments parallel to each other. Research plants can be open flow, semi-recirculating, or complete recirculating.

Additionally, we are developing projects on farming other innovative aquaculture species in collaboration with various institutions and University. Diversifying production by farming new native species is a positive way of expanding ltalian and Mediterranean aquaculture. Fish farmers are following various diversification strategies so they can offer the market a range of alternatives. There are five species currently being studied in Italy for aquaculture: pandora (Pagellus erythrinus}, blackspot seabream (Pagellus bogaraveo), sharpsnout seabream (Diplodus puntazza), amberjack (Seriola dumerili) and shi drum (Umbrina cirrosa).

We have designed a mobile research tank where all biological needs of the species are respected. Moreover, it is possible to condition the fish through light and temperature plans, monitoring parameters and behavior of the fish as well as move your research tank wherever you need because it is a mobile advice.
